This book documents the aftermath of the most powerful earthquake that struck the northeastern coast of Japan in March 2011, as well as the subsequent tsunami in the city of Otsuchi, in Iwate Prefecture. The book brings together family photographs of the residents of Otsuchi, which were found some time after the disaster, in order to establish a dialogue with the images that captured the survivors in the ruins of their homes. "Otsuchi: Future Memories" proposes a reflection on the dynamic relationship between family photographs and our memory when such tragedies occur. Author: Alejandro Chaskielberg.
