Cuban photographer (1944-2018). He studied photography at the workshop of artist Raúl Martínez, and also studied Architecture but abandoned it to dedicate himself to photography. In 1973, he started writing a film section in the monthly magazine El Caimán Barbudo and contributed as a film and visual arts critic to other publications. From 1976 to 1981, he worked at Cuban TV as the head of film programming and later as the head of propaganda. In 1981, he worked as the chief editor of the magazine Orbe. From 1983 to 1993, he served as a film advisor and later as a filmmaker at Estudios Gramma. He has presented papers at various theoretical photography events, delivered lectures on the history of Cuban photography in his country and in Spain, and conducted photography workshops. He served as a jury member in several contests and events. He was a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the Union of Cuban Journalists, and the International Association of Visual Arts, and he was the president of the photography section of the Association of Visual Artists.
