de Barros, Geraldo

Born in February 1927 and passing away in April 1998, he was a multifaceted Brazilian artist, primarily known for his work as a photographer and painter, although he also delved into industrial design and had a special affinity for printmaking. He studied design and painting with Clóvis Graciano, Collete Pujol, and Yoshioka Takaoka. He began in the classical realm of photography, focusing on the representation of figures and landscapes, but soon delved into experimental art. In this regard, he was one of the pioneers of abstract and modern photography in Brazil, as well as considered one of the most important Brazilian representatives of concrete art.
