Martínez, Raúl
Cuba 1927-1995)
Painter, draftsman, engraver, photographer, muralist and graphic designer, Martínez was one of the most important representatives of Cuban abstract expressionism in the mid-20th century, best known for his pop-art collage portraits of leading Cuban political figures. He designed magazines and books for cultural institutions, posters and scenery for plays and movies, among many others.
