Weber, Martín
Argentinian (born in Chile in 1968), he studied at the University of Buenos Aires and at the ICP in New York, where he received a scholarship (1992/93). In 2018, Weber received the Magnum Foundation Fund, in 2016 the Grand Prize for Installations and Alternative Media at the National Salon of Argentina. He has also received grants from the Guggenheim Foundation (1998), the Prince Claus Award (2004), the Silver Eye Prize (2008), the No Strings Foundation (2005), Hasselblad (2001/1999), the Klemm Foundation's Firs Prize (1999), and the National Fund for the Arts (2016/2014/1996). He was an artist in residence at MAC and D21 (Santiago, Chile / 2014), CPW (Woodstock / 2004), Light Work (Syracuse / 2002), IASPIS (Stockholm / 1998). Still in progress, "Map of Dreams Latin American," his directorial debut, won EFICINE from Mexico and Sørfond from Norway in 2016, and was declared of cultural interest by the City of Buenos Aires in 2017, 2015, and 2014. In 2013, he received support from INCAA. In 2011, his book "Echoes from the Interior" was nominated at Paris Photo among the top 100 photo books published between 1997 and 2011.
