Fotografía Argentina Actual, published by La Azotea Editorial, brought together photographers from the 1960s-1970s. That experience was endorsed by the continuity of production from those selected photographers. Furthermore, we can affirm that they are, for the most part, among the best Argentine photographers of the second half of the 20th century. Today, at the end of the 90s, we are publishing Fotografía Argentina Actual Dos. It is a new selection by Sara Facio featuring the work of 12 authors: Adriana Lestido, Marcos Zimmermann, Liliana Parra, Cristina Fraire, Eduardo Gil, Raquel Bigio, Res, Hugo Aveta, Bibi Calderaro, Gustavo Gilabert, Marcos López, and Daniel Muchiut. It presents a varied vision of themes and styles faced since we have lived in a democracy, including social photography, landscapes, experimentation, color, and black and white. It distances itself from the idea of granting photography the sole purpose of reflecting reality. Authorial photography is accepted as art, and we know that in art, reality is fiction while the artist is the great storyteller of history.
