Furcolin, Alexandre

Brazilian visual artist and photographer, born in 1988. He conducts artistic research through photobooks, installations, site-specific sculptures, and performances that have photography as their starting point. He has published nine photography-based books, including "São Paulo" (2021), "Tangerina" (2019), and "Casa Doze" (2015, exhibited at Photo-Paged: On Brazilian Experimental Publishing at Centre de la photographie Genève, Switzerland). Two of his books were shortlisted for the Latin American Photobook Award by Foto Museo Cuatro Caminos, Mexico (2017), and one for the International Award Felifa FOLA-Fototeca LatinoAmericana, Buenos Aires (2017). He has participated in group exhibitions in galleries and institutional spaces such as Off Cairo Bienalle (2018), Centro Cultural São Paulo (2017), A Gentil Carioca Gallery (2017), Fauna Galeria (2016), and Ginebra Photo Center (2017), and has held three solo exhibitions in Brazil. He has been working and living in São Paulo since 2005.
