Lipszyc, Alejandro

He was born in 1971 in San Martín, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. He studied Communication Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, photography with Juan Travnik and Alberto Goldenstein, and painting with Nora Dobarro and Pablo Suarez. Since 1995, he has worked as a photographer. His work is part of various private collections and the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2003, the Antorchas Foundation awarded him a grant for artistic creation for his series: "Portraits of the Crisis: Unemployed - The Immigrants." In 2009, he received a scholarship from the National Fund for the Arts to develop the work "The Clubs." That same year, he was awarded the 2nd prize at the National Photography Salon (Argentina). In 2010, his work "The Immigrants" was included in the collective exhibition "Encubrimientos" organized by the Cervantes Institute of Madrid, as part of the Photoespaña festival. Currently, he teaches photography workshops in his studio and is a teacher at the Argentine School of Photography. He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
