Kuhn, Toni

Interested in photography since his childhood, in 1950 he obtained his first camera, and a few years later, an 8mm film camera. He learned to work in the photographic lab of his school, and in the early sixties, he took art history courses at the universities of Bern and Zurich. In 1964, he arrived in Mexico City, where he has resided ever since and where he has developed an important career as a photographer. Between 1966 and 1970, he was a student at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos. Upon graduating from the Centro, he began a distinguished career as a cinematographer, both in feature film industrial cinema and in short films and documentaries. In 1974, he received the Guggenheim Fellowship, and since 1980, he has been dedicated to teaching.
