Katz, Leandro

He was born on 06/06/1938. An artist, poet, and filmmaker, known primarily for his films and photographic installations. He lived in New York from 1965 until 2006, where he engaged in academic and creative activities. Since then, he has resided in Buenos Aires. His works include long-term projects that incorporate historical research, anthropology, and visual arts, addressing Latin American themes. He has produced several artist books and artist's books, as well as seventeen narrative and non-narrative films. His most recent artist books include "S(h)elf Portrait 1972" (2008), "Natural History" (2010), and "The Ghosts of Ñancahuazú" (2010), which includes his award-winning film "The Day You Love Me" (1997). For his work, he has received support from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts of the United States, and the Hubert Bals Fund of the Netherlands, among others.
