González, Daniel

Artist, photographer, and designer, Daniel González is primarily known for his collaboration in the delirious and transgressive collective El Techo de la Ballena in the 1960s. The "balleneros" considered themselves cultural guerrillas, disseminating manifestos and organizing exhibitions and meetings. In all the group's publications, Daniel González participated with his photographs and graphic design. His images from that time betray sarcastic looks and dystopian visions of a city that aimed to assume a modernist and progressive façade. He lives and works in Caracas.
