Astudillo, Ever

He is a Colombian visual artist. He studied at the Departamental School of Plastic Arts in Cali and later at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. From 1973, he worked as a professor of Drawing and Painting at the University of Cauca. His work focuses on the city and the neighborhood as poetic motifs, exalted by the light and shadow of the landscape and urban signs. He explores urban themes through works with relevant social content and emphasizes collective behavior as the germ of cultural identity. In 1984, he received an honorary mention at the First Biennial of Art in the Americas in Havana and first place at the National Salon of Artists in Colombia. In 1985, he participated in the international art fair ARCO in Madrid.
