They are known as "adelitas," the women who were part of the Mexican Revolution at the beginning of the 20th century. In this book, they become hopeful mothers seeking truth and justice; adolescents celebrating the anniversary of the revolution; miners, high school students, cholitas paying tribute to the Virgin Mary; elderly women celebrating the Day of the Dead; circus performers, evangelists, gypsies, and nannies; Mapuche and workers; female prisoners; girls playing in the streets; women fighting for social change. All of them captured by Marcelo Montecino in different countries: Bolivia, Nicaragua, Ecuador, El Salvador, Chile, Peru, and Guatemala.
