Two essential bookbinding techniques will be covered: fanzine/magazine stitching and French sewing. We will discuss the process, basic tools and materials, the use of templates, and folding techniques. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have completed a six-signature notebook and an instructional fanzine with explanations of the stitches learned, both sewn by the participants themselves.

The aim is for each participant to acquire the knowledge and confidence to bind independently using materials they have at hand.

Candelaria Mestas Núñez holds a degree in Humanities and has been working independently as a bookbinder since 2021. She collaborates with artists, publishers, and institutions to bring a variety of editorial projects to life.
