Vargas, Giovanni

Colombian artist born in 1976. He studied fine arts at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes in Cali. In 2002, he moved to Bogotá to live and work, while simultaneously pursuing his master's degree in fine arts and visual arts at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He has participated in various group exhibitions since 1998, in regional and national salons, as well as internationally in the Poligráfica Triennial (San Juan, Puerto Rico, 2009), FARSTA (Stockholm, 2014), and São Paulo (2015). Currently, his work revolves around architecture and urban space, with a particular focus on the concept of home and dwelling. Some projects also demonstrate an interest in the secluded lifestyles of certain individuals and their intellectual biographies, employing different narrative forms for their presentations.
