Bedoya, Fernando

Fernando "Coco" Bedoya (Amazonas, 1952), a Peruvian artist based in Argentina since the late seventies, represents a pivotal figure bridging the experiences of artistic and political activism in Peru and Argentina. A former active member of various collective experiences such as Paréntesis or the Festival Contacta 79, and one of the exponents of serigraphic work in the 1980s, he established himself early in Buenos Aires, continuing his work in graphic action within collectives like GAS-TAR, C.A.Pa.Ta.Co, among others. Bedoya's work emerged historically at a time when various languages linked to mass reproduction and the desire for the democratizing utopia of art were emerging.
