Andujar, Claudia

She lived in Hungary and the United States before moving to Brazil in the 1950s, when she began her photography career. She became a naturalized Brazilian citizen in 1957. She worked as a photojournalist and, in the early 1970s, embarked on independent work documenting the lives of indigenous peoples in the Amazon, particularly the Yanomami. She also participated in the Commission for the Creation of the Yanomami Park in 1979 and campaigned for the demarcation of the territory for that indigenous group. She lives and works in São Paulo.
