Vera, Francisco

(Spain 1917-1991)

Vera was a Spanish exile, a correspondent for Times Life, who revolutionized the concept of photojournalism when he became the head of the weekly magazine Siete Días Ilustrados. Vera was the first photographic editor in the Argentine print media to develop a new form of photojournalism. He brought veterans of photography to work together with young people in whom he saw potential; many future great professionals emerged from this scheme.
