Vicuña has worked as an arts and entertainment photographer for various Chilean magazines, as well as an editor for feature films and animated shorts in France. The technique she has employed since 1979 involves the application of pigments and colored pencils to black-and-white photographs, vignettes of everyday life by night and by day: streets, people, interiors, and bars in the cities where she has lived.
