Bony, Oscar

(Argentina 1941-2002)

As a painter and photographer, Bony trained in the workshops of the legendary Argentine artists Berni and Castagnino, before taking a leading role in the explosion of avant-garde Argentine art in the 1960s. His work was controversial and surprising in each of the mediums he chose: objects, installations, short films and conceptual works, as a photographer in the world of rock music, painting hyper-realistic artworks, and black-and-white photographs of subjects with bullet holes in the glass frames.
