Trujillo Magnenat, Sergio

(Colombia 1911-1999)

Trujillo belonged to the generation that presaged the modern art movement in his country. Painter and draftsman, graphic designer, muralist, sculptor, photographer and illustrator, Trujillo was an all-weather, innovative creator who wielded a very broad artistic language. Two of his paintings are among those considered emblematic of 20th century Colombian painting: La muerte y la doncella (Death and the maiden) and Mujer sobre tréboles (Woman on clover).
