Errázuriz, Virginia

(Chile 1941)

From her early works, Errazuriz has dedicated herself to engraving and drawing, to which she started by adding photographs and objects. She progressed to incorporating waste products and cuttings as a technique based on the economy of means, using precarious, neglected materials and even industrial waste. She uses this approach to question art, the trade of being an artist, the means of production employed by painting and the representation of reality, leaving her mark on the contemporary Chilean art scene.
